Following a recent visit and consultation with village elders, government education officers and the children again priorities were again assessed and were found to be :-

Fresh water.

This issue is already high on the agenda and one way or another must be resolved quickly. Ideally the water supply will be from the natural springs and since those break surface some 200 feet up it would allow for a pressurized supply, but the initial cost estimates have been sent back for a 'rethink'  since the quoted rate looked excessive. In the event that bringing the water to the school from the natural springs should not happen then water will be harvested from the school roves.

Two new classrooms.

With over 600 children in the school and a limited number of teachers class sizes are excessive and adding two more classrooms and attracting 2 additional teachers will be a good beginning.

Toilets.

Construction of lavatory facilities at the school is well under way already and eventually there will be 24 stalls as well as urinals supplied foe the boys.

First aid facility.

Well, we are Health Aid for Africa so this item should come as no surprise. Currently in a school of over 600 children the only first aid available are first aid kits

Teachers accommodation.

Journeying to and from the school each day from the nearest small town is a somewhat major undertaking with journeys of 6 or 7Kms each way and we are convinced that if teachers accommodation could be provided to a high enough standard then not only would the existing teachers live at the school but that other teachers would be more willing to join the staff.
